Remote Support is Awesome!

 

Remote support is technology that allows anyone with the right software to support anyone from anywhere with technical problems on their device, as long as both parties are connected to the internet via a data connection.

 

Common software used:

 

  • Teamviewer
  • Joinme
  • Windows Remote Desktop
  • Anydesk
  • Comodo
  • Chrome Desktop

 

Any of these tools will allow for remote support from anywhere.  All you, as the user needs to do, is, download a small application to your computer.  The person offering the support will tell you which one to download.  Once installed, you need to provide an ID and password to the person supporting you.

 

This allows them to log onto your screen.  When finished, they will log off and will have to get a new ID and password if they ever want to help you again.  This just helps you stay safe and ensure that no one has access to your computer when you’re not around.  

 

These tools have become common and it is quite common for remote support to take place these days, I mean, who hasn’t heard of TeamViewer, right?

 

If your business needs support every now and again, but you don’t want to commit to any long term contracts, then there’s this option.  Sign up for remote support.  You can get support by the hour, typically you pay for 1 hour’s support, which is normally a lot cheaper than having someone come to your premises.
